Festival du Film Tous UNiS pour mettre fin à la violence contre les femmes - Afrique du Sud 2011
FESTIVAL DU FILM "UNiS" - AFRIQUE DU SUD 2011
Pour coïncider avec la campagne annuelle "16 Jours d'Activisme" le PNUD et le FNUAP, en collaboration avec Nayanaya Pictures, Women of the Sun, le Département des Arts et de la Culture, la Ministère de la femme, des enfants et des personnes handicapées, le Film and Publication Board (FPB), et plusieurs ambassades, organisent le Festival du Film 16 Jours d'Activisme intitulé : "De la chambre à coucher au champ de bataille".
Les films, dont les thèmes sont relatifs aux objectifs d'UNiTE, viennent de partout du continent et du monde entiers.
Cinéastes locaux et internationaux seront présents pour parler de leur travail. Ateliers et séminaires abordant des thèmes divers : le genre et le cinéma, la misogynie et la masculinité, les enfants et la pornographie, le viol et "le viol de correction", les jeunes et les médias, le rôle des ONGs et la société civile pour mettre fin à violence, et même, la dégradation de l'environnement comme une forme de violence.
Le festival a pour vision un futur dans lequel il y aura 365 jours d'activisme et une fin à la violence à tous les niveaux. Pour une véritable campagne indépendante et active, les films seront projetés hors des salles de cinéma, dans les espaces culturels.
L'historique Market Theatre, dans le quartier culturel de Newtown de Johannesburg sera la plaque tournante du festival. D'autres projections se dérouleront dans des lieux comme: Africa Window Museum à Pretoria, Alexandra Thusong Recreational Centre, Yeoville Recreation Centre et The Kliptown Youth Project Outdoor Centre.

festival overview
To coincide with the annual 16 Days of Activism Campaign, UNDP and UNFPA in collaboration with Nayanaya Pictures, Women of the Sun, the Department of Arts and Culture, Ministry of Women, Children and Persons with Disabilities, the Film and Publication Board (FPB), and several Embassies are hosting a 16 Days of Activism Film Festival entitled ‘From the Bedroom to the Battlefield'.
Films from across the continent and the world, with subject matter relevant to UNiTE goals listed below, will be screened.
Local and international filmmakers and directors will be present to speak about their work. Workshops and seminars addressing themes as diverse as "gender and filmmaking", "misogyny and masculinity", "children and pornography", "rape and corrective rape", "the youth and media", "the role of NGO's and civil society in ending violence" and even "environmental degradation" as a form of violence, will be held.
The vision behind the festival is a future of 365 days of activism and an end to violence on all levels. The festival will take films out of cinema houses into cultural spaces in pursuit of truly independent and active campaigning.
The historic Market Theatre in the Newtown Cultural Precinct in Johannesburg will be the hub of the festival with other screenings taking place at venues such as the Africa Window Museum in Pretoria, Alexandra Thusong Recreational Centre, Yeoville Recreation Centre and at The Kliptown Youth Project Outdoor Centre.
