German Film Producer.
Nicole GERHARDS is a Film Producer (NiKo Film, Berlin).
She is known for "Les Filles d'Olfa" (2023), "Tug of War" (2021), "En attendant les hirondelles" (2022)
Nicole GERHARDS studied Theatre and French in Paris as well as Film Production at the dffb (Deutsche Film- und Fernsehakademie) in Berlin. Besides working for various production companies as production manager and freelance producer, she graduated from the dffb with the film CHARLOTTE, which screened at both the Quinzaine des Réalisateurs in Cannes and at the Perspektive Deutsches Kino at the Berlin Film Festival in 2004. In 2005, Nicole Gerhards founded NiKo Film in Berlin. Since then she has (co-)produced 25 successful and award winning movies, of which 23 were international co-productions.
Nicole Gerhards is a member of EAVE, ACE, the European and the German Film Academy. In 2012 she was chosen to represent Germany as Producer on the Move at the Cannes Film Festival and also took part in the Producers Lab Toronto and the prestigious Inside Pictures Programme.
In 2019, Nicole Gerhards and Karsten Stöter (Rohfilm Factory) iniated and developed the GREEN PLEDGE FOR SUSTAINABLE FILM PRODUCTION THROUGH REDUCTION, REUSE AND COMPENSATION, which so far is signed by more than 50 members of the Producers Association Produzentenverband.
She has been a jury member at various renowned film festivals such as Film Festival Max Ophüls Preis, Film Fest Munich, Edinburgh Film Festival, Hof International Film Festival and achtung berlin.
Furthermore she is part of several selection committees and works as an expert for selected festivals and institutions such as Creative Europe, Locarno Open Doors, Ciclic, DFFB (Berlin Film School).
