Mustapha was born in 1975 in Nakapanya in south Tanzania and he came to Dar es Salaam in 1995. He sent application to Tinga Tinga Cooperative to become member and in 1998 he started to paint. His teacher was Suleyaman Maida who is painting in Mozambique now. Mustapha paints in distinctive style which is hard to copy. The reason is that he puts his soal, energy and enthusiasm in art works. In 2010 Mustapha visited Japan and got opportunity to represent his art on life TV. He has also visited number of universities to talk about Tinga Tinga art.
