At Moto we believe that reading is key to improving and developing writing. We have discussed at  gatherings the importance of writers

reading as much as they can, all styles and subjects! Through reading, writers can learn about new styles, develop their vocabulary, and support other writers. To encourage writers in Tanzania to read, we've decided to recommend two books each month, one English and one Swahili. We'll discuss the recommended books at the following Moto session, as well as ongoing discussions outside the monthly gatherings. While we know the importance of reading all types of books, we will be focusing on literature/fiction. When possible we will provide sample chapters and discounts for

purchasing.

The recommended books to be read in March are The Wicked Walk - W.E. Mkufya and Vuta n'Kuvute - Shafi Adam Shafi. These will be discussed at the gathering on the 25th of March. If you don't read the books in March, or miss the meeting, still try to read the books!

Want to recommend a book for Moto Reads list? We want to ensure the books are accessible to as many people as possible ask that book recommendations adhere to the following:

- Written in English or Swahili

- Must be avaliable in Tanzania i.e. currently sold here

- Should cost no more than 15,000 Tshs.

- Will be literature/fiction, either novel, novella, play, poetry etc.

- Ideally written by a Tanzanian author or set in Tanzania
