After a few films shot on Super 8, about sixty articles for Positifand three years studying cinema at the Sorbonne Nouvelle university, Mehdi Benallal integrates the directors department of the public cinema school Fémis at the age of 22.
In there, he directs a documentary about the CNT (3 2 1 - Trois deux une) and short fictionnal movies. After leaving the school, he develops several fictional scenarios that do not result and then works as mailman, sounder, enumerator, secretary of edition in Radio France…
