Lova Desrochers 31, is an African lady born and raised in the english part of Cameroon in a city called Buea. She is the fifth of a family of 8 children with four brothers and 3 sisters. Her father is a business man and her mother a retired school teacher. Her family being francophone, she faced the challenges of languages barriers for despite the fact that she attended a French school, most of her neighbours and childhood friends were English speakers.This created in her the desire transformed later into the urge to speak english fluently.Her determination to become a "true bilingual Cameroonian" almost faded in her teenage years when she began to experience identity crisis:her french speaking friends called her "the anglophone girl"while her english speaking friend called her "the francophone girl".
She then developped a kind of complexe who quickly vanished when she travelled to Senegal in the early 1995. Her first year in the country was a revelation of her gift for languages, more especially english and french. Her teachers, mentors and collegues where so amazed by her ability to play with these languages switching from one to another with such ease that they started to recommend her to people who needed translation and interpretation work done.
She obtained her Baccalaureat A3 with 03/20 in Maths, 15/20 in French and 18/20 in English. She was attending a conference in 2001 still in Senegal, when the interpreter pleaded for replacement because of a sudden fatigue. Someone who knew her in the crew mentioned her to the organiser. She ended up finishing the interpretation: this was the beggining of her journey. She quickly became the principal interpreter of Greater Grace Evangelical Ministry in Dakar Senegal and was hired by different NGO minimum four times a year to translate for international conferences, business meetings or religious gatherings.
She travelled to France in 2000 and became the principal interpreter of Association Fontaine de Vie Paris, while teaching english as well in Primary Schools. Actually she held eight differents classes in 4 differents School of Courbevoie, a suburb of Paris. Her work as an english school teacher gave her the opportunity to introduce Cameroon to more than 400 hundreds French children. Her passion for communication, her ease with people, her great sense of humour make her a great entertainer.
Leader of several youth associations both in Dakar and in Paris, she is a life-coach, a writer, and also a gospel singer. She started writting at the age of eleven and has in her account more 30 novels yet unpublished. She is also working at the realease of her first book entitled "HE IS A DIVORCE". As a strong believer in God, Lova D. is very well known in the evangelical milieu especially in countries such as Senegal,Nigeria,Burkina-Faso and France where she travelled to sing. She is a vocal lead, a choir leader and a talented singer. She recorded an album in Abuja, Nigeria in 2003 entitled "Seigneur je viens a toi". She is preparing her come-back in the music scene for 2010 and has her motherland Cameroon is her target. She also wrote many dramma scripts and acted quite a lot in all the high-schools she attended as a member of the theatre&drama club -Lycee Bilingue de Buea, Collegue Sacre-coeur de Makak, Lycee Thierno Seydou Nourou Tall. She was once the vice-president of the club theatre of Lycée Thierno Seydou Nourou Tall (Dakar). She acts with such grace that her pairs say she has a double-personality.Lova is in love with nature,trips,books,entertainement more especially the cinema industry.She is a fan of Drew Barrimore, Kate Winslet and Cameron Diaz.
Lova is presently preparing a Bachelor of Arts with major in creative writing at Vancouver Island Univerty in Canada, after having obtained a diploma in Tourism and hospitality management in Senegal and a Bachelor degree in English at Universite de Paris13, Villetaneuse. These words describe her: Goal-driven, Focused, Faithfull,Full of life,globe-trotter,optimistic and Creative.She believes in living life to the fullest and she is convinced that the best is yet to come.
