During a summer school course at the Fémis, Nelson Makengo makes a short film with his mobile phone. His own smile as he accompanies a group of Parisian activists during a demonstration in Souvenir d'un été makes the viewer realise that freedom of expression is a pure joy, when you come from a stifled society, where the space for public speech is annihilated. Souvenir d'un été was screened in Brazil at the Sao Paulo International Short Film Festival.
