Set in Rwanda in the spring of 1994, at the outbreak of the genocide, Jacqueline, a young Tutsi woman, is a maid in a Belgian family. When she finds her children brutally murdered by the Hutus, she runs away and hides in the woods. There, she meets a man who has also escaped from the slaughter. Together, they will try to survive with the fear of being discovered at any moment. Terror and madness wait for them at every turn.

Kigali, the first day of the genocide. Rwandans are massacring each other and Westerners are fleeing the country. Jacqueline, a young Tutsi nanny for a Belgian family, finds herself abandoned. Hiding in the ceiling, she manages to escape the killers. Meanwhile, back in her village, her children are slaughtered. Chased, hunted down, she takes refuge in the forest.
Directorial debut.
