A community lives far from civilisation in the forest of the Bas Congo. This united group's daily life is centred on the myth of the liberation of the Congo people. The army of faithful followers does penance by covering their bodies with ashes while at the same time chanting a passage from the Old Testament (Jonas 3, 5-6). Their ancestors had been quite correct in their predictions: the black man has regained his position with the election of Barack Obama and the day of their liberation is drawing near.
