A Charvieu dans l'Isère, le conseil municipal a voté la destruction de la mosquée. Cet incident qui a défrayé la chronique pendant un moment, pose le problème de la difficile insertion des immigrés musulmans pratiquants. La question de la montée de l'intégrisme est également posée.
