In 1997, inhabitants of an Île-de-France village have hidden for a few months a young illegal Moroccan who turned up in their village. An underground network was created. Some people hid him in their attic. Most of them were elderly people, not especially activists. Ten years later, Miloud has disappeared. We went back to Janvry, to understand what made those people open their door.

In the middle of the fifties, Robert Citron known as "The state trooper lemon" leaves to discovery the New Caledonia, to live a human and film adventure. He takes one 8 mm movie camera and he acts as filmmaker. 50 years later, his pictures turned in the island of Pines and in Canala are made public and deciphered by the collectors of heritage Kanak.
Gina's Wedding (Papouasie-Nouvelle-Guinée - 52 min - 2008)

Gina's Wedding" is a film about inter-cultural relationships, a love story between Gina, a young German woman and Napamogona, a native village in Papua New Guinea. The village has decided to host Gina's wedding with Mark, her fiancé. The film describes how love can become the basis of collective human organisation.
Himalaya, terre des femmes (Inde - 52 min - 2008)

Portrait of an avant-garde music style called Open Form. Through the eyes of one of the performers we get an insight into a musical subculture which aesthetic and artistic codes and values are far from mainstream. The objective of this project is to create a collage where the visual, aura land textual is represented to make this musical phenomenon as comprehensive as possible.

In Conakry, in the entrance hall of the People's Palace, an imposing fresco at the effigy of Fadouba Oularé is hanged enthroned. He is represented with his Djembe, surrounded by his people, his rifle and the feast raised. He is the incarnation of the slogan sent out by the Sékou Touré government to mobilize the Guinean population : "The right man at the right place".

Instead of going away to school, some Evenk children of remote Siberia have the school brought to them! French anthropologist Alexandra Lavrillier is fighting alongside the Evenk people of southeastern Siberia to save their heritage. She has helped set up a mobile school to give Evenk children the chance to receive a modern education without having to sacrifice their ancestral traditions.
Stone Pastures (Inde - 65 min - 2008)

Stone Pastures tells the story of a nomadic family living on the Himalayan plateau of Ladakh. In this cold desert, the family struggles rearing pashmina goats. Ladakh's gritty conditions give rise to the finest of materials, pashmina wool. This is the raw material for luxurious Kashmiri shawls, and the family's only source of income.
Echagh - The Well (Mali - 32 min - 2008)

A Tuareg Fraction called Igorareine live in a locality called Echagh situated to 40 km in the northeast from Gao, northern Mali. They are basically occupied with sheep, goats, camels, cattle, breeding and have been practising a nomadic live for generations. Nowadays, some of them are about to leave this ancestral way of live due to many loss of animals caused by the desertification of the Sahara.

Hazarajat, Central Afghanistan : in the aftermath of 30 years of Civil War the people try to adapt themselves to the new social and administrative organisations. The advent of the western enforced new political ideas has brought a significant shift of power. Old leaders are struggling to keep their positions or are able to adapt themselves to the new circumstances. Meanwhile, as winter falls, ordinary people continue their daily routines in this remote and forgotten valley.

On the outskirts of Bucharest, two 14-year-olds live by themselves in an apartment, without their families. How is it that they got here? What about their past? Alex and Petronel struggle to cope with daily life as adults. At any rate, they've never been allowed a real childhood. Casa Mia follows them in their thoughts and in their memories of their past lives spent with their families and on the streets.

From 1970 to 2003, 1600 women claimed they have been raped by British soldiers in Northern Kenya. Husbands felt dishonoured and reject their wives after beating them. A few women gathered and created Umoja, a village forbidden to men. Jealous men frequently attack Umoja and create many problems to Rebecca, founder of the village.

Letter from a father to his daughter, a letter for the future probably. Through this process, the director tells the story of a family, his proper family, in a rural area deeply affected by a social and economic dismay. Where a bitter alcohol is passed down from a generation to the next one. Words are rough as he felt his situation as little boy, a teenager, and now as a father.

This is a tale about the death of Goleshovo, a forgotten town in the mountains of Bulgaria. Here, a handful of old people struggle for survival: A couple fights with their donkey. A forgetful priest leads his congregation into confusion. A woman cheers up her friends with songs. Will their children ever return? Composed with rigorous attention to form, this observational documentary is an austere yet ultimately rewarding portrait of hope.

This film reports the tour of the company of street theatre "the Three points of suspension" and a collective of circus artists. Following the roads of Morocco, Burkina Faso, and Mali, they improvise spectacles in remote villages and for the children of the orphanages. This voyage, rich in human encounters, musical and cultural exchanges, is also, for these artists, another way to discover Africa.

The Sambatra is a collective circumcision ritual that the Antambahoaka, one of the eighteen ethnic groups on Madagascar, celebrates every seven years in Mananjary, on the east coast of the island.
The Sacred Goats of the Kalash in the Hindukush (Pakistan - 41 min - 2008)

The Kalasha tribe of the Hindukush in NW Pakistan is a minority of 3-4000 people with its own religion and culture. The Kalash are the last remnants of a goat culture that dominated in vast areas of Central Asia till the advent of Islam. This culture is now endangered due to plans of making the precious high pastures into a buffer zone for a Nature Park. Also, neighbouring people make lawsuits against the Kalash claiming for the pastures. The goats are basis of the religion and economy of the Kalash. The film shows all the aspects of Kalasha life where goats are important - directly or indirectly : the dairy production, ritual purifications, sacrifices to God.
Boliya pitaier sohoki sotal - A Duet with the River God (Inde - 125 min - 2008)

On the India-Bhutan border, 650,000 of the Bodo ethnic majority divert the course of the Pagladia River to 116 villages through 13 embankments. They are taking the river home from a rerouted course created in the 1920's. Only utilizing natural environmental sound, the film portrays the community's collective action at the very first embankment by the river's origin. They lift stone by stone, else they cease to exist.

The children of the Cuban revolution are now facing a bitter day-to-day life while a new upper class lead by the old generation in power is desperately hanging at it.

Kili Radio - "Voice of the Lakota Nation" - is broadcast out of a small wooden house that sits isolated on a hill, lost in the vast countryside of South Dakota. It's a place that's long forgotten; lying at the crossroads between combat and hope, between the American dream and daily existence on America's poorest reservation. Instead of sending smoke signals the radio station transmits its own signals with a delightful combination of humour and melancholy. Native hip hop and broken windshields : pride has been restored - it really is OK to be Lakota.
