A crossroads between Oceania, Southeast Asia, Africa and the Arab world, Madagascar, with its eighteen ethnic groups, has an extremely rich musical palette. This recording devoted to Merina traditions, focuses on music forvaliha zither, kabosy lute and sodina flute (played by its uncontested master Rakotofrah), and also offers a presentation of hiragasy -an exuberant form of rural musical theatre.
